Thank you for attending our 3rd annual Northeast
Transportation Summit held Friday, February 10th at
the Hurst Conference Center.

Over 600 attendees received information concerning
major highway projects in our area and other
transportation issues relevant to improving mobility
for the citizens of Northeast Tarrant County.

Updates were presented on the DFW Connector and
the North Tarrant Express projects. These two
projects represent over $3.5 billion in jobs, material
purchases and economic development while
improving the mobility of our area.  Morning
seminars included presentations from the three
transit authorities in the DFW area: Dallas Area
Rapid Transit (DART), Denton County
Transportation Authority (DCTA) and the Fort
Worth Transportation Authority; a panel discussion
about Partnerships and Processes for Successful
Road Projects led by Michael Morris, P.E.,
Director of Transportation for the North Central
Texas Council of Governments; and a presentation
on the importance of Regional Transportation by
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price. Our keynote speaker
during lunch was Phil Wilson, Executive Director of
the Texas Department of Transportation.

We were proud to have had many of our national,
state and local elected officials on hand including
Congressman Michael Burgess, Congressman Kenny
Marchant, State Representative Vicki Truitt, State
Representative Todd Smith and State Representative
Kelly Hancock along with many local mayors and
councilmembers.
